Our Awards
One of our favorite things to do with our chickens and eggs is take them to shows. There are many in Texas, and they are a great place to meet new breeders and buy or sell stock. The kids also enjoy raising the birds from chick to adult and seeing the fruit of their labor pay off.
First Place in Brown Egg and Color Trio at the Egg Show
We won first place in two divisions of the Klein Poultry Show in December of 2021: First in Trio of Color (Ameraucanas, Black Copper Marans, and Barred Rock Eggs), and First in Brown Eggs for our Black Copper Marans eggs. We won First in Trio of Color again in January 2022.
We love our beautiful eggs, and the judges do, too!
First and Third Place in the Bluebonnet Classic Egg Show
We took first and third at the in the January 2018 Bluebonnet Classic Egg show in Bryan/College Station, Texas with our Marans eggs.
First and Third Place in the Fancy Feathers Trio of Color
We also placed first and third in the Fancy Feathers Show for Trio of Color in March 2018 and first and second in 2019.
Junior Grand Champion 2017
Black Copper Maran Pullet
We got Grand Champion in the Junior Division for our Black Copper Maran Pullet out of Siegfried/Robertson lines. Our winning pullet, "Copper," was a beautiful girl with a wonderful, friendly temperament. Her hatchmate, Rojo' son, is our main rooster. He has great conformation and also passes on great egg color.
Junior Reserve Grand Champion 2017 Blue Ameraucana Pullet
We got Reserve Grand Champion in the Junior Division for our Blue Ameraucana Pullet. She was out of our chickens from the Paul Smith lines.
Junior Best Continental 2015
We won best Continental 2015 for our Black Copper Marans hen. Best Continental includes best of the Marans breed and all other European breeds.
